Mascot Competition
Online-Manga needs a mascot! Or even two. So, we will have a competition to choose a suitable mascot for the club.
Rules: The mascot must be in manga style, and preferably simple to draw.
They can be male or female, anthro or human. Anything goes, as long as it is not overly offensive to anyone (ie they must wear some clothes. A skimpy outfit is allowed however, as long as its not too naughty
). Basically, almost anything goes. Entries end on the first sunday in February, and then we will have a week for members to cast their votes. By entering this competition, you are allowing online manga to post this drawing in our club, and its members to draw fanart of the said character.
People will get a few votes (depending on the number of entrants) but will not be allowed to vote for themselves. You will be allowed a maximum of two entries.
First Prize: Your character will be a mascot for the club, and your image our featured deviation for at least two months. ~
p-u-r-i-n will also do a request, a somewhat detailed painting (with watercolours and inks most likely) of a manga subject of your choice.
Second prize: Your character will be our secondary mascot. You will also get a request from ~
p-u-r-i-n probably a less complicated manga painting, to be completed after the first prize one is done.
Third prize: a headshot watercolour from ~
p-u-r-i-n
If there are enough entries, and ~
p-u-r-i-n's financial situation improves, a subscription may be considered as a prize as well.
Lunar New Year
After a fair bit of thinking, and a few converstions with members, Online Manga's revival event will be centered around the Lunar New Year.
About the Event
The event will be similar to a Secret Santa, like the club ~
animorphs among others did for Christmas. Except... it is a Secret... New Year thing. Therfore Lunar New Year Event. The event is open to all admins and members, as there will be no winners, its basically a bit of fun.
Basically, you will note the club with the subject "Lunar New Year Participant" and I will add you to a list. Then I will randomly choose you someone to do a gift-art for. You cannot under any circumstances tell anyone that you are their
"secret new year santa" otherwise the fun of the event will be ruined. The person you make an artwork for will be different to the one who you get an artwork from.
All medias are welcome. We do however, reccomend that the picture is complete - if it is a sketch, please have it shaded and completed. You could do watercolours, coloured pencils, graphite pencils, digital art, inks, anything, as long as it is in a manga style. You could even draw a short manga or write a script for them. Be creative. It should be related to the Lunar New Year though. I reccomend you research the Lunar New year, such as on Wikipedia

You don't have to create something amazing. Just create something that your club-friends will be able to enjoy. Its not a competition.
Just a fun litle event. We welcome all skill levels.
Deadline
JANUARY 29 2006 will be the deadline. No later than this. Don't enter if you don't think you can make it. You have a full month, so you should be able to create something by then.

here. I don't think I've been doing very much as an admin of this club, and I don't really have the time to work on it.
